JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Field Supervisor
Department: Plumbing Service, HVAC Service, Duct Cleaning, and HVAC Installation
Reports To: President
Must have a valid driver's license
Must take and pass a drug and background screening
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the duties of a Field Service Technician (plumbing/HVAC) as well as the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The essential functions of the Field Service Supervisor are to prioritize, direct and supervise all Field Technicians as well as complete service calls to customers. Focus on customer service and delivery of product/service. The Field Supervisor utilizes customer service and technical training to educate and assist Field Technicians with regard to educating customers in choosing service, finance options and handling customer relations. This position is aware of the importance of incentive programs and ensures fair and equitable distribution and proper documentation of work. The Field Supervisor must be knowledgeable of flat rate pricing, the Nexstar Service System and its proper practice. Have the ability to instruct others with regard to using the pricing policy and Nexstar Service System.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven track record in service, with 3 years in management
- Spot check installations and service calls for Quality Control
- Verify installation Quality Audits
- Integrate sales strategies across other departments to drive profitable results
- Monitor performance of field service and installation technicians and advise them on how to improve
- Understand sales criteria and hold your team accountable for exceeding revenue goals
- Show technicians how to establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services
- Ability to inspire and lead others to attain company goals
- Highly motivated, self-starter who’s flexible and has a great attitude on life
- Technical aptitude with knowledge of local codes and ability to make on-the-job applications
- Multi-tasker who enjoys working in the field with diverse teams on varied projects
Answer questions asked by Field Service Technicians as needed. Assist Field Technicians with technical trade questions, customer service, pricing, estimates, and paperwork. Also assist Service/Operations Manager with training, truck inspections, and disciplinary actions up to and including terminations of Field Technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required: A high school diploma or equivalent with college level coursework desired.
A minimum of four years experience in a service, home repair or construction environment including hands on training and or work in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, employee relations, scheduling, management, performance reviews, conflict resolution and labor law.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read and write English well enough to read and prepare invoices time sheets and proposals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to successfully complete mathematical aptitude evaluation.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be capable of applying sound business judgment to all decisions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Journeyman or master certificates desired, not required. NATE Certification desired, not required.

This position will require working indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold with rain to very hot and humid. This includes attics, crawl spaces, and confined locations. This position will require working indoors. The employee may be called upon to be in customer or service production sites on an as need to basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Typical workweek is eight (8) to ten (10) hour workdays five (5) days per week with regular weekend work, as well as early and/or late weekday meetings with customers, vendors and staff personnel as needed.
This position deals with aggressive personalities in a highly competitive industry and will be stressful.
